Password manager

Description

Social media, online stores, e-mail systems, bank accounts, and many other systems require that users register a login and access password. With the ever-growing number of accounts, how long will users be able to know all their access passwords by heart?

You will inevitably end up forgetting some. To solve this issue, some users repeat the same password in different systems or use similar versions, changing only one or two characters. These practices are discouraged, as they may compromise the security of all your accounts.

You do not have to be a super-genius and memorize all the passwords to all your various apps; you can store them in a safe place, such as by writing them down on a piece of paper and placing them in a locked drawer.

Another way to safely store passwords is by using a password manager. A manager is like a safe - all you have to do is register your passwords there so that they are stored and protected on that particular device. You just have to remember the master key (the password to the safe) to access all the others that are safely stored away.

Here are some examples of password manager software: Bitwarden, 1Password, GO-PASS, Pass, KeePass, KeePassX, and Google Password Manager.

This list should not be understood as recommendations, but as examples to illustrate the type of software programs referenced in this video and explanatory text. Before choosing one of these options or any others, carefully read the description and license, check the company's reputation, and look at the reviews of other users. Be very careful to download it from a trusted repository and test it until you feel comfortable actually using it on a day-to-day basis.
