Create More than One Backup

Description

How important are the videos, photos, music, messages and documents stored on your devices? Have you ever considered what it would be like to lose access to this data? Unfortunately, this is a real possibility and can happen due to accidents, theft, system failures, unsuccessful updates, malware infections, or physical damage to your devices.

To avoid this risk and ensure the accessibility and security of your information, it is essential to create backup copies of the data on devices such as computers, smartphones, and tablets. These backups allow you to archive important information and recover your data as well as earlier versions of files that have been modified.

To create a backup, you can use tools built into your device’s operating system; install specialized applications; use cloud services, in a data center or on the network; synchronize with other devices; or even use simple solutions like flash drives or external hard drives.

Below are three recommendations for creating backups:

Schedule regular automatic backups, as manual copies are more likely to be forgotten or done incorrectly. Always verify that backups are actually being completed.
Create multiple backups and store the files in different locations. For example, keep one copy online, in the cloud, and another offline, such as on a flash drive.
Keep the operating system on your devices up to date and install all available updates to the apps you use. This will help protect your devices.
